Elegance, sailing, and team spirit in Porto Rotondo
From May 30th to June 2nd, the crystal-clear waters of the Costa Smeralda hosted one of the most anticipated summer events: the 11th edition of the Solaris Cup—a celebration of high-performance sailing, Italian craftsmanship, and a shared passion for the sea.
Among more than 80 Solaris yachts arriving from 17 countries, Malo joined the event as main partner, taking part in the regattas with two sailboats. A presence that reflects the brand’s deep connection between elegance and performance, between athletic gesture and a refined sense of beauty.
The art of sailing and the value of detail
The Solaris Cup is more than a regatta: it is a gathering of yacht owners, designers, sailors, and enthusiasts united by a common vision. Each yacht, from the Solaris 44 to the majestic 111-foot models, embodies excellence—where pure lines, selected materials, and flawless performance coexist in perfect balance.
The coastal races, drawn between the islands and coves of northeastern Sardinia, offered a show of skill and nature: precise maneuvers, sudden wind shifts, and moments of perfect harmony between crew and sea. In this setting, Malo brought its distinctive perspective: understated, authentic, and refined.
A cashmere Lounge on the waves
At the Solaris Village, the heart of the event on land, the Malo Lounge welcomed yacht owners and guests in an atmosphere of comfort and style. Cashmere cushions and throws transformed each break between races into a moment of well-being, fully in tune with the event’s spirit.
To celebrate the craftsmanship that unites Malo and Solaris, a unique Challenge Trophy was also created: a cup handcrafted by an Italian artist and enriched with cashmere yarns embedded in its structure. A symbolic gesture blending the art of navigation with that of artisanal skill.
“Malo Porto Rotondo”: exclusive capsule collection
For the Solaris Cup, Malo’s historic Porto Rotondo boutique—opened in 1998—presented an exclusive capsule collection dedicated to sailing and the Mediterranean lifestyle. Lightweight cashmere sweaters, fine cotton polos, breezy scarves, and caps tell a new story of sporty-chic elegance: natural, essential, refined.
Presented in tones of navy, white, and beige, the garments are personalized with the “Malo Porto Rotondo” logo and a stylized sailboat design—an homage to the relaxed and authentic spirit of the season.
The sea as vision, style as compass
Taking part in the Solaris Cup meant embracing a shared spirit—of crew, wind, and a common course. It was an experience that once again confirmed that even in a sporting context, it is possible to express an aesthetic that is timeless and understated.
Because every challenge lived in harmony becomes a story. And every story, when finely woven, becomes part of beauty.
