HOW TO WEAR IT
Malo Style Guide:
discovering Body Shapes
The Fall/Winter 22/23 "Authentic Charme" collection features soft and linear garments that, thanks to their simplicity, become extremely versatile, adapting to every figure.
We have always been educated to see beauty in a single set of harmonic proportions; the truth is that every shape has its charm. Nobody fits well with anything: above all, it is the clothes that have to adapt to one's body shape - and not the other way around.
There are 6 body shapes, they do not change with weight modifications or over time, and each of them is enhanced by garments worn in multiple ways.
The second stop of Malo Style Guide is in the world of shapes: let's start walking!

Triangle Body Shape
It is a typically Mediterranean and feminine form, but is also found in many men. Those who belong to this body shape have the upper part of the body smaller than the lower one, with rounded hips and a narrow waist. Triangle people tend to lose weight easily in the arms and abdomen, while struggling to dry out the buttocks, thighs and calves. To enhance this figure, women will choose soft and wide trousers, preferably high-waisted to emphasize the small waist, and tops with ruffles, ruffles or various applications to add volume to the shoulders and chest (tucking them inside the trousers to enhance the slim waist). Men will add volume to the upper body with double-breasted jackets instead.

Inverted Triangle Body Shape
The inverted triangle body shape is typically masculine, but is often also found among women; it has a broad chest with very narrow hips and lean legs. Contrary to the triangle, those who belong to this category tend to accumulate weight especially on the upper part of the body, while the lower one remains very dry and thin. This figure, in the female case, is enhanced to the maximum by slim or cigarette trousers, which emphasize the narrow hips and the basically long and slender legs; better if combined with sweaters with simple and clean lines, with few ornaments, which valorizes the shoulders without adding volume. For men, on the other hand, it is advisable to emphasize the shoulders and chest with shirts with wide necklines and bold patterns.

Hourglass Body Shape
It is a very sinuous and balanced figure, exclusively female. Those with an hourglass shape have shoulders and pelvis aligned with each other and a visibly narrow and arched waist. It accumulates weight uniformly, but often the first part of the body that tends to increase in volume is the lower part of the hips, in the immediate vicinity of the pelvis. It is enhanced by waisted cuts, high-waisted trousers and belts, while it prefers softer and more slippery models to skinny trousers.

Eight Body Shape
"Sister" of the hourglass, it shares with the latter the unmistakably narrow waist - and also in this case it is found almost exclusively in the female gender. In this case, however, the waist is more flattened and is usually found just below the breasts, so those who belong to this body shape will tend to accumulate weight especially on the upper hips and abdomen. The perfect solutions to enhance this type of body shape are screwed, or marked with a belt that emphasizes the waist. Presenting a usually lean and linear leg, this shape will have a lot of freedom in choosing trousers, preferring however the high waist. Also perfect are peplum dresses and fitted skirts that emphasize the curvy waist.

Rectangle Body Shape
It is the most common body shape among both men and women, and has a perfect proportion between the hips and shoulders. Its peculiarity lies in the straight, slightly arched waist and in the abdomen that is always very lean: the garments that best suit this shape have extremely minimal and clean cuts. Also in this case there are no limits to the choice of the most varied trousers’ models, from skinny to palazzo. Those who want to emphasize the linearity of the figure will use straight shirts worn untucked; those who want to give more softness, on the other hand, will insert the same shirt inside the trousers, perhaps wearing it slightly unbuttoned. Those who want to visually enlarge the upper part of the body will prefer the striped pattern and darker tones for trousers and/or skirts.

Oval Body Shape
It has the same characteristics as the rectangle, but in this case the figure has softer contours and a slightly pronounced abdomen, which tends to be the first part of the body where weight is accumulated. Those who belong to this body shape will prefer garments with a loose, non-adherent fit: the models with pleats and thick fabrics are excellent, since structure the figure more, but also everything that shows off the calves and ankles, which are usually thin and elegant, like the trousers with cuffs. Men will be able to play with overlays or particular patterns.
