Venice, an open-air theatre

Visiting Venice means living a unique and unrepeatable emotions. A city where beauty is the master, where the majestic buildings overlook the shiny ribbons of its canals and where reign infinite shades of blue, between sky and lagoon.

A symbol of the city is San Marco, one of the most important Italian squares, renowned all over the world for its beauty and architectural integrity, and is the only true square of Venice.

A real picture in the open air, where you could lose hours with your nose up, picking up new details. Together with San Marco Square, the Cathedral Basilica forms the main architectural site of Venice. It is a Greek cross cathedral. Its five immense domes and the fabulous gold of the mosaics recall the splendour of the Byzantine East.

Other Venetian cult places located on the square are the high bell tower, erected again after the ruinous collapse of 1902, the old and new Procuratie with inside the prestigious Correr Museum, the columns of San Teodoro. Without forgetting the splendid Palazzo Ducale.

d

The Palazzo Ducale dominates Piazza San Marco and overlooks the Laguna like a fairy-tale vision, in delicate shades of white and pink according to the most refined Venetian Gothic style. It’s big, with a large inner courtyard and 4 floors.  The building is a real monument to the power of the Venetian Republic: here was the residence of the Doge, as well as the seat of the government, and its opulence reflects the richness of the city.

The beauty of the Venice canals is surely highlighted by the bridges that cross them. The most famous and ancient is the Rialto Bridge, which crosses the Grand Canal. Rialto is also famous for its market where you feel at home, in the total harmony that only the scenes of everyday life can give.

Not far from Piazza San Marco we find the Ponte dei Sospiri, one of the most famous bridges in Venice. Built in 1600 with Istrian stone, in perfect Baroque style.

Background for lovers who take pictures, but who do not know that the sighs -the original ones - once seemed to belong to the condemned.

d

There is also the game, in fact Venice is famous for its carnival and its masks. Another element that characterizes it throughout the world.

d

Venice has been in the centuries desire, source of inexhaustible inspiration and icon. The light and water of this magical place transmit energy and peace to heart and soul. And it will always be so.

With Malo he shares the passion for beauty. Wearing a Malo sweater means feeling the love of those who created it with wise hands. The lagoon, like Malo, jealously guards its secrets and the timeless beauty that fascinates and makes you dream.

Art, culture, romance, madness… in a world that floats, as well as among the fibers of a cashmere sweater.
