Paola Citterio: The Tent Experience

The Cashmere of Malo is dyed pink in honor of women and it becomes an art installation thanks to the artist Paola Citterio

The artist Paola Citterio reinterprets the cashmere of Malo with an installation presented for the project “Woman” organized by La Tenda Experience in Via Solferino 10 (Milan)  from 7th to 20th October 2019.

The inspiration is the woman’s figure.

The philosophy of the brand, its history and that of its artisan talents, especially women, are the starting points for this collaboration with Paola.

The women’s figure is at the center of the work. For Paola, a tribute to the women of her family, dedicated to the home and sewing. For Malo, his artisan talents and his workers, women who dedicate themselves to work every day with dedication and passion.

“Woman” made with Malo yarns processed with the dry felt technique and assembled with iron, is in continuity with the philosophy of Malo, exalting the criteria of quality, dedication and experimentation.

Pink cashmere and wrought iron, two apparently distant and contradictory materials, enter into dialogue with a result of rare harmony. The shades of pink complement the dark tones of the reuse items.

On a symbolic level, the artist retraces his family origins: a grandfather blacksmith and women dedicated to home and sewing, bringing to the surface a complexity of dialogue of great intensity, always with a thread of irony.

A special collaboration, something unique for those who still prefer to pass a knit as a story; for those who prefer the magic hidden among the fibers of the finest cashmere.

«We are honored that our cashmere has become an installation thanks to Paola Citterio. We believe in his method of expression and his artistic intention. An amazing result dedicated to all women, above all to the wonderful women who work daily with passion and dedication in our company», says Walter Maiocchi, President of Malo.
